"A Mister Sister show seems more like a concert experience than watching a bar band,"
Mister Sister is a seven piece band fronted by three powerhouse female vocalists. Not only do the vocalists shine individually, together their harmonies bring back the full classic rock sound that many people are not accustomed to hearing. The ladies might be up front on the Sister stage but you can’t miss the monster sound that the Mister’s provide. "A Mister Sister show seems more like a concert experience than watching a bar band," is a sentiment repeatedly expressed by audience members and venue managers. Mister Sister plays throughout Illinois performing alongside multiple national performing artists (Brian Howe Bad Company, Foghat, and Blue Oyster Cult) as well as playing the local clubs and private events. When the band is playing locally they work with experienced lighting and sound companies to provide the audience with an outstanding sound and light show that brings the concert feel to the club scene. Mister Sister is also VERY proud to be sponsored by Budweiser.
Mister Sister formed in 2005 when Michelle wanted to form a new group with the ability to perform music from the likes of Boston, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, REO Speed Wagon, and so on. She wanted to bring the big sound and vocals to not only larger events but to the club scene as well. Michelle Lynn, Tracey Meyer, and Jenny Rose all have been singing separately as well as together for many years. Michelle hails from the band Raging Waters and is also known for her studio work with various artists as well as many radio jingles. Jenny and Tracey played over 12 years with the local band “West Macqueen Street Band” and began working with Michelle in 2001 when she joined the same group. With the idea in place for a new group, the search for outstanding musicians began. Through mutual friends and wonderful musicians Mister Sister emerged with a stellar line up.
Chuck Reynolds, guitar master extraordinaire, hails from Pontiac and provides an enormous talent that allows this band to perform many songs untouched by other bands. Chuck is strongly influenced by Texas southern rock and Blues and has played along side many notable musicians who play it flawlessly. Not only does he bring a vast guitar sound, Chuck’s vocals are commanding as well.
The drumming force behind Mister Sister is supplied by Eric Yarbrough (formerly of Exit). Along with a bachelor’s degree in music business, Eric has played in countless bands on the road touring as well as locally since 1984. He has played on several recordings you may very well find on the bargain rack at any upscale truck stop or back shelf at a low key record store. He claims “I have more low down mojo than a hippo on a diet of soul food and refried beans”.
Due to his many years of experience working with experimental jam rock bands like Ion Quest and Because of the Sun, Dan Byrd brings a bass sound to Mister Sister that is much broader than most Rock bassists. Mister Sister is Dan's first venture into playing live cover music and he likes it.
David Sulzberger comes to us with extensive music and live performance experience. With a master’s degree in music education, he has done country, blues, rock, MOR, and Christian gigs, touring, and recordings. He has played and toured with to name a few, Stampede, and The Ernie Peniston Band. He has performed along with Brooks and Dunn, Buffalo Club (Restless Heart), Dixie Chicks, Neil McCoy, Sawyer Brown, Joan Jett, Lonnie Brooks, and numerous other major acts. He is currently a music teacher at Illinois State University and a church music director.
This band in known for its ability to play classic arena rock however, due to its member’s broad knowledge base and talent they have the ability to play Funk to Blues as well. Mister Sister’s fan base seems to be growing larger with every performance. They are a very strong presence on the Peoria live music scene having played many public events including Steamboat Days, Ham n Jam, and Taste of Peoria and the Grand Nationals on the Peoria Riverfront. This band will leave you wanting to hear more.
